Ectropion Repair

Ectropion is a condition in which the eyelid turns out. This can result in eye irritation, tearing and blurred vision. Ectropion repair involves tightening the lower eyelid to return it back to its normal anatomic position. There are various techniques for this and Dr. Morales can advise you on which technique would work best.

In the recovery period, swelling and bruising are not uncommon. During this time, you will be instructed to use ice to your eyelids and apply an antibiotic ointment to the incision. Strenuous activity should be avoided in the week following surgery.

Sutures are removed in the office approximately one week later.

Entropion Repair

Entropion is a condition in which the eyelid turns inward. Usually, patients seek immediate attention for this because the eyelashes are rubbing their eyes. This can result in eye irritation, pain, tearing and blurred vision. The goal of entropion repair is to return your eyelid back into the correct anatomic position. There are various techniques for entropion repair, and Dr. Morales can help you determine which would work best for you.
